I have been a practicing attorney licensed in the District of Columbia and Maryland for about twenty years. I am also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). My Juris Doctor degree is from the University of Arizona College of Law and I also hold a Master of Business Administration in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. The primary focus of my legal practice for the first 17 years of my career was business law and entrepreneurship. Currently, my law practice focuses on criminal appellate and trial practice primarily for people of limited financial means, juveniles and immigrants. In addition my private practice, I have been appointed by the D.C. Court of Appeals to represent indigent defendants under the Criminal Justice Act and I am an Appointed Attorney in the District Courts of Maryland providing limited representation to indigent criminal defendants in initial appearance proceedings. Additionally, for Maryland's Office of the Public Defender, I represent juvenile defendants in delinquency proceedings and prisoners in filing post-conviction petitions.
I have been an adjunct faculty member at several local universities over the last fifteen years. I have taught Business Law here at The Catholic University of America in the Metropolitan College since 2007. I have also taught graduate and undergraduate classes at Trinity University and at Webster University’s Bolling AFB campus from 2002-2013. The classes I have taught at those schools include Business Law, Business Strategy and Policy, International Business Strategy, Financial Management, Financial Management for Non-Financial Managers, Corporate Responsibility & Ethics.
