Free Transferable Classes From Saylor Academy
The School of Professional Studies (SPS) through an agreement with the Saylor Academy enables undergraduate students, on a limited basis, to take online courses developed and provided by Saylor Academy to assist in degree completion.
Registration at Saylor Academy is free, and all course materials are provided as part of the course package. The only costs to the student are their time and a small fee. Students who wish to have their exam proctored online can use Saylor Academy's partner, ProctorU. Other options for proctoring may be available. Once students complete their final exam, they can request an ACE transcript be sent to SPS. Steps to request a transcript are detailed here. The normal University grade and passing requirements apply to this program.
SPS requires students wishing to enroll in Saylor Academy courses to secure approval from the Undergraduate Academic Advisor, as there are limits to the number of non-CUA course credits which can be applied toward graduation requirements.
Saylor Academy is an opportunity for students to take additional classes, at no cost, thus reducing their overall tuition costs over a four-year program. All courses approved by SPS for study are certified for college credit by the American Council on Education (ACE), recognized and accepted by many colleges and universities for alternative college credit.
