By William Tippin, DM, CMC, Assistant Dean of Summer Sessions

The Metropolitan School recently was placed in charge of the university’s entire summer school program. The Summer Sessions starts in May and ends in August. During the Summer Sessions courses, camps, workshops and dual-enrollment courses are taught.

The Summer Sessions curriculum are offered in a way that to attract not only the students already enrolled in the University but also to: international university students; other U.S. university students; professionals interested in advancing their careers; and high-school students who enroll in a camp to study a subject they may want to major in when they enroll in a university or college.

There are a number of reasons that Students take courses during the Summer Sessions. Sometimes it is because we offer a particular course only during the summer. Or perhaps a student wants to graduate early.

We also have a robust travel abroad Summer Sessions program. Many of our corresponding universities are in the UK and the EU.

The majority of the courses are offered online either synchronous (i.e. by Zoom) or asynchronous (i.e. the professor and the student only interact electronically). But a number of courses are offered face-to-face.
