Admission Requirements

Application - Submit the Metropolitan School’s online graduate application. The application is optimized for application efficiency and enables the applicant to submit supporting documents. For this reason, it is very important that applicants have all of their required documents listed below ready to submit before starting the application. Applications are not considered complete and are not reviewed until all supporting documents, including recommendation letters, have been submitted.

– Letters of recommendation - In the online application, provide contact information for two recommenders. Professional recommendations (preferably from a former or current supervisor) are preferred.

– Statement of purpose – approximately 500 words in length, stating purpose for undertaking graduate studies, qualifications, personal and professional goals, and how participation in the program will help attain these goals.

 – Résumé, detailing your professional experiences (work, awards, memberships)

– Transcripts from previously attended institutions - Unofficial transcripts from all undergraduate level, or higher, courses should be uploaded to the application.  In addition, please mail official transcripts to:

Lashay Long
Metropolitan School of Professional Studies
The Catholic University of America
329 Pangborn Hall
620 Michigan Ave. NE
Washington, D.C 20064

These transcripts of previous academic training must show courses taken, grades obtained, and proof of graduation. All official/attested transcripts must have an original seal or stamp from the issuing institution. All transcripts from institutions outside the United States must be translated into English and evaluated before they will be reviewed. One of several services that does this is World Education Services (wes.org).

– Proof of English proficiency - Information on required test scores and waisers for the testing requirement can be found at https://www.catholic.edu/admission/undergraduate/international-students/language-proficiency/. Scores should be sent directly to the Catholic University of America.

– F-1 and J-1 students - You must provide a letter of financial support and a bank statement showing sufficient funds to cover the first year of study. Further details can be found at https://www.catholic.edu/admission/undergraduate/international-students/financial-aid/.

– Graduate entrance examination scores - GRE/GMAT are not required for admission to any of the Master of Science in Management degrees or other graduate degrees offered by the Metropolitan School of Professional Studies.

– $60 application fee (applicants who attend an information session, in person or online, are eligible for an application fee waiver)

Once your application is complete, the admission evaluation and review process typically takes three to five business days. However, the process may take longer in some cases.

When completing your address on your application, your permanent address must be your home country address, even if you are currently residing in the United States. Your mailing address should be the current location where you are residing. Do not list the United States address of a friend or relative.

You can check your application status at any time by visiting your application portal. You may also contact our office with questions at metropolitan@cua.edu or by phone at 1-202-319-5256.

Admission Requirements

Once all of the required documents are received, your application will be reviewed by the individual school or program admissions committee using the unofficial transcripts. If an offer of admission is made, then an official transcript in the original signed and sealed envelope, or secure email from the issuing institution or international evaluating service, must be received and reviewed for verification by the Office of Graduate Admissions before registration for classes is allowed.

Admission decisions will be based on grade point average, undergraduate major, years and relevance of work experience, recommendations, writing ability, relevance/usefulness of program to meeting personal and professional objectives, and other relevant criteria. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Completed applications will receive a decision notification by e-mail within 3-5 business days, and students can begin classes during the next available term.
